Product release program completed for advanced light source used in actinic inspection of EUV masks
Woburn, MA – June 22, 2011– Energetiq Technology, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of ultrahigh- brightness light sources for advanced technology applications, has been named a winner of an R&D 100 Award by R&D Magazine for its revolutionary laser-driven light source technology. The EQ-99 LDLS™ Laser-Driven Light Source was hailed as one of the 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace over the past year.
The Energetiq EQ-99 LDLS™ Laser-Driven Light Source is a highly stable, ultra-bright source of broadband deep ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared light that has a lifetime of 10-times that of conventional scientific lamps. The EQ-99 is ideal for use in applications such as high-performance analytical spectroscopy, advanced imaging, and any application requiring ultra-long lamp life in the life sciences and materials sciences.
Paul Blackborow, CEO of Energetiq said, “We’re thrilled that the EQ-99 LDLS has been honored as a product of distinction in today’s scientific and research communities. The Laser-Driven Light Source technology is a game-changer in the design of advanced instruments. No longer do engineers and scientists have to trade off brightness to get long life, or to use multiple light sources to cover the whole spectrum. With the EQ-99 they can have brightness, bandwidth, and stable long term output at the same time.”
Since 1963, the R&D 100 Awards have been a benchmark of excellence for a wide range of industry sectors. Many of these award-winning products have become household names, helping shape everyday life for millions of people. “During the recent economic downturn, industry, academia, and government labs continued to innovate,” said Rita Peters, editorial director of R&D Magazine. “The editors were impressed with the strong field of candidates for this year’s R&D 100 Awards. The number of entries exceeded that of recent years.”
Winners of the R&D 100 Awards are selected by an independent judging panel and the editors of R&D Magazine, and will be recognized at the R&D 100 Awards Banquet on October 13, 2011, in Orlando, FL.
