Senior Sustaining Engineer
Energetiq is seeking a Senior Sustaining Engineer to join a dynamic and growing technology company, working with a team of engineers and scientists bringing new products from development to production. The senior sustaining engineer will lead product engineering and continuous improvement efforts, along with guiding new product designs for advanced light sources leveraging Energetiq LDLS technology. The senior sustaining engineer will be the focal person for all LDLS technical issues in manufacturing and the field, providing project management and technical leadership for enhancements and extensions of current products. The successful candidate must be highly organized with strength in physics, mechanical, electrical or systems engineering, and will use this strength to help drive issue resolution, collaborating across the entire organization. The right candidate must be able to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the effort to perform root cause analyses, resolve and implement product fixes, modifications, and design enhancements.
- Track, troubleshoot, and, identify the root cause for product issues escalated to engineering.
- Lead LDLS yield improvement, reduce product variability, and product cost reduction.
- Develop automated test capabilities to support product design verification and long-term testing.
- Provide engineering support for component obsolescence issues.
- Provide engineering support for product compliance (REACH, ROHS, CE, etc.).
- Change management coordination across the LDLS product lines.
- Support the design and testing of new products.
- Support the transfer of new products from engineering to manufacturing.
- Support driving full documentation of design including, BOM, drawings, and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or Physics; Masters preferred.
- 8+ years hands-on design and development in analytical instrumentation or related industry.
- In depth knowledge of optics, plasma physics, lasers, and instrumentation (spectrometers, beam profilers, oscilloscopes, etc.) is desired.
- Project management and strong organizational skills.
- Self-starter must be able to work independently with minimum supervision or direction.
- Must have a strong work ethic and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Semiconductor industry experience is desired.
