Energetiq Celebrates 20 Years of Innovation with Open House Event

November 12, 2024 [Wilmington, MA] – Energetiq Technology, a Hamamatsu subsidiary and leader in advanced light source solutions for critical applications, proudly celebrated its 20th anniversary with an Open House event at its Wilmington headquarters on October 16, 2024. The Open House brought together industry partners, product end-users, and the community to commemorate two decades of innovation and success in the photonics industry.
Energetiq’s origins date back to its founders’ vision to revolutionize light source technology for highly demanding applications. Established in 2004, the company has spent the last 20 years at the forefront of photonics technology, developing and delivering groundbreaking solutions to the world’s most demanding industries. Its proprietary Laser-Driven Light Source (LDLS®) and Electrodeless Z-Pinch™ extreme ultraviolet (EUV) technologies have transformed precision lighting, enabling applications in semiconductor manufacturing, life sciences, spectroscopy, and more. Energetiq's products are renowned in the industry for their high brightness, exceptional stability, and long lifetimes. 

The Open House event featured a variety of engaging activities for the attendees:

  • Guest Speakers: The afternoon commenced with a brief overview of Energetiq’s history from CEO Debbie Gustafson. The overview was followed by comments from several notable individuals who influenced Energetiq’s history, including local government officials, Hamamatsu board members, and the company’s founders. Guests were very grateful to hear from the following speakers: Naofumi Toriyama, Hamamatsu Board Member and Chairman; Melissa Grupen-Shemansky, VP of Technology Communities and CTO at SEMI; Peter Milano, Director of Strategy & Business Development at the MA Office of Business Development; Professor Gregory Denbeaux, Department of Nanoscale Science & Engineering at the University at Albany; and Paul Blackborow, Co-Founder of Energetiq.

  • Celebratory Toast: Co-Founder Paul Blackborow led guests in a celebratory champagne toast and cake cutting ceremony to commemorate 20 years of success and continued growth at Energetiq.

  • Facility Tour: Guests had the opportunity to tour Energetiq’s newly expanded state-of-the-art production facility and gain insight into the advanced technologies that power the company’s light sources.

  • Product Demos: Attendees experienced live demonstrations of Energetiq’s cutting-edge products which have set new standards in precision and reliability for critical applications, including the recently released next-generation EQX-850 LDLS.
